Job Description:
This position supports the Global Total Cost (GTC) Benchmarking activities, specifically focusing on Commodity Benchmarking studies involving chassis and underbody components. The main objective of Commodity Benchmarking at Ford is to evaluate and compare part designs, features and technologies of internal benchmarks along with other OEMs within and outside of the automotive industry. It also helps to identify opportunities for complexity reduction between Ford products and within a vehicle series. Commodity Benchmarking is a proven process enabling teams to identify best practices, maintain a competitive edge and reduce part costs of existing designs to make Ford more profitable and competitive in the marketplace. It is also an enabler to assist forward model programs in the development and achievement of program cost targets. As a Commodity Benchmarking Engineer, you will play a key role in helping to meet corporate cost objectives. You will also be exposed to exciting new products and technology and will be joining an agile team of doers making a difference at Ford by working collaboratively and delivering excellence day in and day out.
